We Offer Lessons

2. FUN

Our goal is to have an exciting curriculum. We encourage students to enjoy music and explore all styles while still focusing on their favorites.

3. Private Lessons

Each student is scheduled for one half-hour lesson per week. Private lessons ensure that each student is receiving the undivided attention of the instructor. This also allows the instructor flexibility with the curriculum.

4. Scheduling

Lessons are at a designated time each week that work with the student's existing schedule. We will attempt to accommodate multiple lessons within one family whenever possible.

5. Teaching Methods

Our instructors teach multiple music methods including:

• a. Music Theory - Studying how music works and examining the language and notation of music. There are multiple aspects that are included such as, melody, pitch, scales, rhythm, dynamics and form.
• b. Technique- The ability to efficiently and effectively play your instrument.
• c. Reading and Writing Music- Understanding the universal language that allows you to perform with anyone at anytime and continue to study outside the lesson room.

6. Age Requirements

Adults can start at any time. John Michael's Music Academy will accept children ages seven and up. On occasion we will accept six-year-olds on a trial basis.

7. Recitals

John Michael's Music Academy is proud to offer Student Recitals in the spring and fall. These performance opportunities encourage stage presence, confidence, performance experience & work ethic.
